#57, 5/5 – Spider-Man 3 (2007) (tofw)

I don’t know why but I tend to come away unimpressed with third movies (yet I’m still going to watch The Bourne Ultimatum and Resident Evil: Extinction). So, maybe that’s why I walked into Spider-Man 3 with a bit of trepidation. Or why I walked out feeling slightly underwhelmed. Actually, very underwhelmed, though not X-Men: The Last Stand underwhelmed. Thank goodness.

Oh, it had its moments. But it really didn’t do much for me as a whole because I thought it was fairly inconsistent, overlong, stretched way too thin and without the payoffs which saved the almost-as-inconsistent second film for me. Or, to put it another way: My favorite characters were Ursula and Betty Brant. Really.
